Regional Workforce Initiative
DFW Apprenticeship Opportunities
A public-facing platform that helps North Texas job seekers discover paid apprenticeship programs across industries — from healthcare to advanced manufacturing to tech — with real wages, credentials, and direct connections to employers.
View project →The challenge
Apprenticeship programs exist across the DFW region — but they're scattered across dozens of employer sites, trade associations, and workforce boards. Job seekers, career counselors, and parents had no single place to browse what's available, compare wages, or see which programs lead to real credentials. Employers running high-quality programs were invisible to the people who needed them most.
Our approach
We partnered with regional workforce leaders to build a single searchable directory. Every listing is vetted against Department of Labor standards, includes starting wage and credential earned, and links directly to the employer's application. The site filters by industry, location, and time commitment — because someone looking for a 12-month HVAC path and someone looking for a 4-year carpentry path have very different needs.
What we built
- Searchable directory with industry, ZIP code, and schedule filters
- Vetted listings with wage ranges, credential types, and duration
- Employer submission form that routes through manual review
- Career counselor mode with shareable saved searches
- Mobile-first design — most traffic comes from phones
- Accessible to screen readers and keyboard-only users
